FAQs
How does AutoStory work?
Participants use a mobile phone, tablet, or computer to respond to guided prompts via video, audio, or written format. AutoStory then transcribes, processes, and categorizes their responses into usable stories.
Do we need technical skills to set this up?
Nope. AutoStory is built for small and mid-sized nonprofits. If you can use Google Sheets, you can use AutoStory.
Can we control how stories are used?
Yes. Consent options are built in. You can tag stories for internal use only, or approve them for public use like fundraising and social media.
What formats do we get the stories in?
AutoStory generates long-form, short-form, social media captions, headlines, and pull quotes — all stored and searchable.
Is this a one-time tool or an ongoing service?
AutoStory is designed as an ongoing solution you can build into your programs. It grows with you, capturing stories as your impact evolves.
How is participant consent managed?
AutoStory includes integrated consent forms that participants complete before submitting their stories. You decide whether the story can be used publicly or kept private.
What if a participant wants to withdraw their story?
No problem. We provide an easy opt-out process. You’ll be notified to remove or restrict any story if a participant changes their consent.
How is story data stored and protected?
Stories are stored in a Google Sheets worksheet. We can integrate with other databases for an additional charge.
Who owns the stories?
You do. Your organization retains full control and ownership of all story content collected. AutoStory helps manage it — but you decide how it’s used.
Can these stories be used to measure impact?
Absolutely. In partnership with your team, we’ll determine key outcome categories and tags to align stories with your program goals and strategic plan.
